Founded in 1999 by Belle Brett, Ed.D., Principal Consultant, Brett Consulting Group (BCG)offers a full range of services related to evaluating programs and organizations, with emphasis on the educational and not-for-profit sectors. Our focus is on working closely with clients from the early stages of a project or program to develop and implement an evaluation plan tailored to their needs. Brett Consulting Group's clients have included colleges and universities, medical schools and organizations, professional development organizations, associations, consortia, and not-for-profit organizations serving young people.

OUR SERVICES are designed to foster a deeper understanding of program dynamics, highlight areas for program improvement, lead to organizational strengthening, and assess program outcomes. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Comprehensive program evaluation design, implementation, analysis, and reporting
  • Design of evaluation tools, including surveys and observation protocols
  • Development of logic models/theories of change, to link program strategies and outcomes
  • Objective setting and evaluation design for grant proposals
  • Consultation on setting up internal evaluation structures

OUR WORK IS CHARACTERIZED BY:

  • Use of both quantitative and qualitative methods (such as interviews and focus groups)
  • Involvement of stakeholders
  • Timely delivery of products and reports
  • Selection and training of staff appropriate to each project

OUR STAFF

Principal Consultant, Belle Brett, Ed.D. has been a teacher, career development specialist, administrator, and researcher-evaluator for more than 30 years. Since 1991, she has worked full-time as a researcher-evaluator in such organizations as Wellesley College, the National Center for Improving Science Education, and City Year, Inc. She founded Brett Consulting Group in 1999. Dr. Brett holds an Ed.D. from Harvard University in Human Development and Psychology, an M.Ed. in Counseling from Northeastern University in Boston, a British Diploma in Education from the University of North Wales, and an A.B. in Sociology-Anthropology from Swarthmore College. She is a member of the American Evaluation Association (AEA), the American Educational Research Association (AERA), and the American Psychological Association (APA).

After consulting with clients, Dr. Brett brings on other staff with specific methodological or content expertise as needed for a given project. In many cases, she serves as the only consultant on a project.
